I cannot believe that it’s already back-to-school! But even more so, I cannot believe that James is going to be in first grade! James couldn’t be more excited, and he could not wait to buy his school supplies. I also loved choosing my school supplies as a kid, I love the whole feeling of back-to-school shopping, it’s very nostalgic for me. Except in “my time”, we had to go to the store, there was no option to purchase online. Now that I’m a mother and at that stage of purchasing school supplies, I’m so thankful to be able to do it online! Walmart has an amazing section on their website with 100+ school supplies for under $1, so if you’re at this same stage, get ready to fill up your carts and be shocked at how low your bill is 😊.

First, we followed his first-grade school supply list, then I let him have some fun with his backpack, lunchbox and supply cases. Below are basics that we purchased from the under a $1 section – few items are over a $1 but still under $2, since they’re more expensive items.

1. Composition Notebook

2. 12 Count #2 Pencils

3. 24 Count #2 Pencils

4. Fiskars Pointed Kids Scissor

5. Blue 2 Pocket Folder

6. Yellow 2 Pocket Folder

7. Red 2 Pocket Folder

8. Crayola Crayons

9. Crayola Markers

10. Elmer’s 2 pack Gluestick

11. 3 Pack Pink Pearl Erasers

James wanted to express himself on his supply containers and backpack, he chose this Marvel Avengers superhero backpack with this matching Marvel Avengers superhero lunchbox. For his pencil pouch, he chose a video game design, his exact one is sold out but this one is very similar. James also went with a Mario theme supply box and a cartoon supply box for his extra supplies. He wanted something fun for his pencils, he chose this box of sea creature erasers, they’re super cute and have other very cute themes available as well!

I’ve had too many nightmares of sending James off to school on his first day with nothing prepared, so I’m glad I checked off all of these items, while not spending so much! I highly recommend checking out the back-to-school category at Walmart for some amazing prices on items – happy shopping!
