It’s the holiday season! That means lots of gift shopping! Shopping for the holidays can be extremely overwhelming. I’m more of an in-person shopper, and I like having store options. I usually have an idea of what I want to gift, but unfortunately for me, I’m usually a last-minute shopper too. For holiday gifting, I sometimes like to purchase luxury items, and I like to go to the store when doing so, so I can make sure that I’m purchasing the correct item and to see all of my options that I might not notice if shopping online. Let’s be honest, shopping online has its perks, but it’s nothing like the real thing.

The Shops at Riverside is a great mall for a few reasons: First, it’s extremely close to New York City! Second, its latest addition of a luxury wing is impeccable, the architectural details are gorgeous, and finally, it’s very large, which during these times helps with social distancing. You are not going to feel like you’re shopping on top of other people. 

I realize that shopping in-person during this pandemic can seem frightening for many people. As someone who has shopped at The Shops at Riverside, I can attest that everything was extremely clean! Staff were constantly wiping down everything, hand sanitizer was everywhere and, the employees made sure to constantly use it, especially before handing me anything. And of course, social distancing was implemented for both the shoppers and employees.

My first stop was Max Mara. If you’re not familiar with the brand, their collections are classy, chic, and timeless. I had the opportunity of a 1:1 experience at the store, which taught me a lot about the brand’s luxurious quality and impeccable construction and versatility of their pieces. The same coat you purchase from Max Mara at 20 years old is the same coat you’ll be wearing at the age of 60. The colors of their pieces are also perfect neutrals that will never go out of style. If I could own all of their items, I would! Their famous teddy coat is high up on my wish list! Definitely a pricey item, but one that I would wear from this winter, to the next, and to the next. Max Mara  sells a large teddy scarf that is also gorgeous so I decided to purchase it as a gift for my mother.

It’s a perfect luxury item to gift for someone of any age! It’s large and definitely a statement piece that can complement a coat/jacket, and even better, you can belt it with an outfit, which looks amazing! 

I then made my way over to Jimmy Choo. The same way people go to The Met to look at art, women go to Jimmy Choo, where you hear the same words – “wow, these are amazing”, “Can you believe this?!”, “I’ve never seen anything so beautiful…” I mean, their famous pearl shoes are a piece of art! The sparkles and shimmer on so many of their shoes are just what a girl likes, and it couldn’t be more fitting to gift a lady something sparkly for the holidays. 

Jimmy Choo bags are extremely versatile, and I picked one out for myself as a holiday gift, their Bon Bon bag in black velvet with a gold tassel. I love how versatile it is. You can wear it during the day or at night! It’s also such a cute and small statement piece.

If you’re looking for luxury jewelry, home, baby, or men’s gifts at a range of prices, Tiffany & Co. is the place to go. There’s nothing like handing someone that signature blue box to make them feel appreciated and loved. The Shops at Riverside has a very large Tiffany & Co. store. If you’re looking for a gift, and walk out empty-handed, I’d be shocked. They sell jewelry, men’s gifts, and home gift items, all at different price ranges to fulfill different budgets. 

Another great store to shop for both women and men is Salvatore Ferragamo. They have a wide range of items, at different price points, to suit different budgets. There are shoes and handbags as well for both women and men, with so many different color and pattern options. Let’s not forget that perfume is always a perfect gift idea if you want to gift something luxurious while maintaining a low budget, and Salvatore Ferragamo has a large selection for both men and women!

Another great part about The Shops at Riverside is that many of the stores offer curbside pick-up. If you’re a person who would still rather shop from home, but feel that you need some assistance purchasing a gift, just call the store and an employee will help you find the perfect gift over the phone! All you need to do is pull up to the entrance of the luxury wing and someone will place your bags into the trunk of your car! It’s super easy and headache-free. 2020 has been quite a stressful year for most of us, so don’t let your holiday shopping add to your stress, by dealing with possible shipping delays! However you shop at The Shops at Riverside, whether it’s in person or curbside, they’ll have everything you need to complete your holiday gift list!
